Portraits of Us: A Photo Documentary of Our Community” is a photo portrait project aimed at documenting the everyday people of San Antonio.

Through this project, I aim to capture the essence of the community by featuring individuals from all walks of life and sharing their unique stories.

I will spend time with each participant, capturing candid and posed shots that showcase their personality and life experiences. I want to highlight the diversity and resilience of the people of San Antonio, whether they are working professionals, stay-at-home parents, small business owners, or retirees.

The portraits will be accompanied by written/oral stories, giving each participant the opportunity to share their life’s journey, including their struggles, achievements, and aspirations. By doing so, I hope to create a platform for individuals to be seen and heard, as well as to promote empathy and understanding among the community.

At the project’s conclusion, I plan to showcase the portraits in a gallery exhibition and compile them for a companion website where their stories can be shared with the world. I also hope to collaborate with local organizations to bring attention to important social issues and highlight the impact that everyday people can make in their community.

“Portraits of Us: A Photo Documentary of Our Community” is a celebration of the people of San Antonio and their unique experiences. It is our hope that by sharing these stories, we can create a more connected and compassionate community.

Through Portraits of Us, I want to capture the heart of San Antonio—its people. Every face tells a story of resilience, culture, and community, and my goal is to bring these stories to light through powerful images and heartfelt narratives.
